OCF are proudly involved in a transformative new cancer research partnership.
The partnership is called Precision Oncology Ireland and is made up of a unique consortium which lays out the blueprint for how cancer research and cancer care will look in Ireland in the 21st century. The results of this programme will be better diagnostics, personalised cancer treatment, and faster drug discovery and development.
Personalised Medicine for Cancer.
One group vision.
This unique partnership involves collaborations within research, industry, charities and corporate involving: 5 Universities, 6 Charities, 10 Companies.
Our collective goal and vision see us unite across these key disciplines with the aim of developing new diagnostics and therapeutics to tailor cancer treatments to individual patients based on their unique cancer.
For Irish patients this means Precision Oncology Ireland will allow scientific advances reach cancer patients in Ireland earlier, and make cancer research work for cancer patients in Ireland.
As part of the collaboration, Breakthrough Cancer Research have created the following videos to help with demystifying precision oncology.
