Croagh Patrick Climb in memory of Raymond McKenna
This September Frances McKenna is following in her husband’s footsteps and will be climbing Croagh Patrick to remember Raymond. In May 2015 Raymond started experiencing symptoms with difficulty swallowing and weight loss. He was diagnosed in February 2016 with Oesophageal Cancer. Raymond had a fighting spirit and walked 25 miles per week, trying to gain strength and prepare his body for his treatment; chemotherapy followed by surgery in July 2016. Just 8 months after his surgery Raymond made the decision to climb Croagh Patrick and made it to the top. Unfortunately Raymond lost his hard fought battle in September 2020. Frances is raising funds to support OCF and the Oncology team at St James Hospital Dublin who provided Raymond with incredible care throughout his illness.
